What is a Praise and Worship Service?

As Christians we are called through Scripture to come together to build our wisdom of God's word (the Bible) and to share the message with our friends and neighbors who may or may not have a relationship with God. We are aiming for those of our unchurched community to check out this alternative means of experiencing (not just hearing) the wonder that is the Word of God. Our Traditional and Blended service follow a liturgy or process for delivering God's word. In the Praise and Worship service we follow these 3 steps: Opening music, Bible/Life lesson and Communion.

1. Opening music is used to welcome our guests into God's house. It is meant as a place for you to find yourself, open your heart and allow your mind to listen for God's love. The plus is that the music you hear is also music that you can take with you or find on the radio too. It’s the kind of music that makes you feel good listening to it and that you may want to share with your friends too.

2. Bible/life lesson is where you are fed on a spiritual level. It’s where the Bible is applied to your life today. During the Bible/Life lesson you will experience the most intriguing love story ever written. The most important lesson you can hear and share is that our God is a loving God seeking a relationship with you through His Son, Jesus Christ. Check this link for a short video. This video depicts a young person being created by God, given life, shown the beauty and splendor of the world around her. Enter the sins and distractions of LIFE; lust, money, revelry, vanity and finally death. Notice during LIFE how the young person seems confused and unhappy. Until she comes to the end where she realizes what is missing in her LIFE. The point of this video is that when we seek GOD, he fights for us and fights hard. He wants us in his life as much as we want Him in ours.

3. Communion is remembering the cost of our sins and the price paid by God's son Jesus. The Bible tells us of Jesus' earthly walk and how he commanded not just his apostles but all his believers to remember him and pray his Father's prayer.
